Facebook tests disappearing messages like Snapchat

Facebook tested it’s new message system for France users.Users in france could send there messages which would disappear after an hour. This might turn out to be a tough competition to Snapchat.

“We’re conducting a small test in France of a feature that allows people to send messages that disappear an hour after they’re sent,” Facebook told AFP.

“Disappearing messages gives people another fun option to choose from when they communicate on Messenger.”

These new features have been tested on facebook messenger app for both Android and Apple platforms. On successful completion of the tests, the service might be made available for other countries.

The option can be used by tapping on the hourglass icon the top right corner in facebook messenger app.

These transient messaging features will prove to be a tough competition for Snapchat.

Snapchat ,established in 2011, has been giving this feature of transient messaging where in messages vanish after they are viewed, which allows users to keep private videos and images transient.

Snapchat has already refused the takeover of $3 billion offered by Facebook in 2013.

Facebook is also said to be working on a Virtual Assistant messenger app which will be way ahead of the artificial intelligence present in any other device in the market.

It seeks out information on user’s command, and is dubbed as ‘M’.
